Hello and welcome back to danvsfood for the latest review
This Review is from Toby Carvery, Newport, South Wales.
Me and Beer wanted a carvery on Sunday so decided to try this one out at Newport. We arrived early afternoon and the place was very busy but we managed to get a table no problem though this was next to a bunch of old farts that had that talcum powder smell to them that so many do. Right onto the food. The meats available was Beef, Pork, Gammon, Turkey. I'm a big fan of Turkey so decided to go for that and was looking forward to it. We had to wait in a large queue for our food which was mostly caused by the two guys slicing the meat. They was more interested in chatting to each other than doing their job of slicing meat. They would slice some meat then stop and carry on talking. If they had sliced the meat quicker the queue would have gone down a lot quicker. I was sliced a small amount of meat which wasn't actually in slices it was chunks though it was cooked nicely and not dry like turkey is when its not cooked properly. I had some carrots and pea's and roast potato's. the roast potato's was very good but the pea's and carrots wasn't coked for long enough and was a bit hard which is less than ideal. for the extra few minutes it would have taken to finish them it would have been worth them doing it. The gravy had a bit of a onion odour to it but not to strong.
Overall not to bad but not Iron Sheik class 6.5/10 danvsfood
